How to Get Makeup Stains out of Chiffon Hijabs
There's nothing like getting home after a day out, taking off your hijab and finding a huge makeup stain. You throw it in the washing machine, but the stains still don't come out. This leaves you with two options: trying to wear it in a way that hides the stains, or buying a whole new hijab.
...Neither idea works well in the long run.
For some reason, stains on chiffon are more stubborn then stains on other fabrics. Because of this, you can't just wash it and hope for the best. You need to first pre-treat your hijab with a stain remover.
Our favorite one is this $3 product, the Shout Advanced Stain Remover.
This advanced gel formula helps erase even the most set-in stains, including the ones you find on your hijab! Here's how to use it.
1) Apply the formula onto every stain you find on your hijab. Apply liberally, and use the built in brush to really rub the product into the stains.
2) Let it sit for a few days. If you are in a rush, a few hours could work, but it is ideal to let it sit for at least a day.
3) Machine wash warm with other scarves in similar colors only.
4) After it is done washing, let it air-dry.
5) Ta-da! A stain-free hijab that looks as good as the day you bought it.
This stain remover can also remove food and oil stains, and can be used on many other fabrics. It is a total game-changer, one every hijabi should always have on hand.
