10 Easy Recipes to Make For Your Eid-ul-Adha Gathering
Getting together with family or friends for Eid and don't want to show up empty-handed? Be it a Eid brunch, picnic, barbecue or dinner these 10 easy recipe ideas are perfect for any gathering you'll be attending this weekend.
1) Simit
I love this recipe for simit by @meals.with.amina. It comes out great every time! This Simit is not as crusty as other ones I tried, which I like. You can easily double this recipe if you need to feed a lot of people. Also, you can substitute whole wheat flour for white if needed. You might need to use more water than she calls for in the video.
2) 7 Layer Hummus Dip
This is your favorite 7 layer dip with a Mediterranean twist. It's perfect for an Eid breakfast, but can also work for a lunch or dinner party. My sister-in-law makes this and everyone always ask for the recipe. Serve with homemade or store brought pita bread.
3) Pineapple Cake
I made this for my whole family a few weeks ago and it was a hit. Light, moist and with tropical ingredients like pineapple and coconut, it's the perfect cake for the summer. Find the recipe here.
4) I Want To Marry You Cookies
Don't let the name or the usage of oats stop you. These cookies are one of the best cookies I've ever tasted; the recipe was the most-viewed recipe on the Cooking Channel for the year it came out. It also only requires one saucepan, which helps save time on dishes.
5) Strawberries and Cream Puff Pastries
This is probably the easiest recipe on the list, if you can even call it that. This recipe uses frozen puff pastry dough. It's so simple to make and will look so aesthetic on your Instagram story (two things that are very important to me). You can substitute blueberries or any other fruit in place of the strawberries.
6) Funfetti Oreo Bars
Here is another easy dessert recipe. All you need is vegetable oil, 2 eggs, Oreos and a box of Funfetti Cake mix. I used Newman's Own, the organic version of Oreos, and my little cousins had no idea. These bars will be gone in seconds.
7) Powdered Donut Cake
I found this recipe on Instagram and it's one of my favorite things I made this year. This "snacking cake" is so delicious, tastes just like what the name promises and will go great with the many cups of chai that will be served at your family's Eid gathering. The recipe doesn't make a lot, so I would make two pans of it if serving a big crowd.
8) Gulab Jamun Trifle
Another easy-yet-aesthetic dessert. You use storebought gulab jamun and if you want, a box cake mix instead of a homemade cake batter. You can also use individual cups, but I find that using a large trifle dish is much easier.
9) Summertime Strawberry Cake

You probably have seen this cake all over Pinterest and TikTok (hello Matilda Djerf). It is a vanilla cake layered with whipped cream and strawberries. It looks so pretty and so simple to make. You can basically use any vanilla cake recipe but if you want more detailed instructions, watch this video!
10) Triple Berry Cheesecake Galette
This gorgeous dessert has been in my saved folder for way too long. In-season blueberries, strawberries and raspberries are the stars of this colorful dish. I love the rustic vibes of this galette and how great it is for summer. This is actually the dessert I plan on making for my family's Eid brunch iA. I hope it comes out as good as it looks here!
